The ceremony. It was a perfect Spring day.
I just got back from a visit to my old home town of San Diego, California. I was lucky enough to be there to attend my nephew’s wedding. It has been over a decade since our family’s last wedding.
I didn’t have any of the responsibilities of being the official photographer, so I was free to shoot whatever I liked. But I found out pretty quick, it is quite difficult being both a guest & a photographer.
When I was socializing, I felt the pull of the prime photo opportunities happening around me. When I was out with my camera I knew I was missing the chance to interact with all those important people I rarely get to see & talk to. In the end, being a guest won out. I did come back with several images to remember the day by, even though some great ones probably slipped by me.
This is one of the main reasons I believe it is so important to hire a photographer to document your event for you. By hiring a photographer, who’s sole purpose is to capture all the details, you can enjoy every minute of the party & still have all the images that will bring back all the memories!

The Reception. A new life begins together. Romance is in the air!

The formal group shots. Weddings are such a great opportunity for family portraits.

Candids of the guests are one of my favourite things to capture.
